After being locked up all winter and you get the itch for some peace and quite and fresh springtime air, spring black bear hunting fills the ticket. Montana has a very generous population of black bear with a wide variety of colors to choose from blonde, chocolate, and black to the reddish brown. Hunting is done by 4x4 and some walking in various drainages. Binoculars are used extensively in viewing logged off areas. Past hunts have had from 85 to 100% success.
All hunts are fair chase, no bait or dogs are used. This outfitter has hunted the same area for over 20 years and knows the area well.
You will be staying in a motel (at your expense) that is centrally and scenically located. Breakfast and possible evening meal will be in town and lunch will be provided by the outfitter in the field. This is big bear country. Several of the bears have qualified for the SCI record book, in all colors.
