The second location available is one of the finest ranches available for trophy elk. In 2000, the number 13 elk in Montana history was taken right here. This 25,000 acre private ranch has consistently produced trophy elk over the past several years. Access to the ranch is mostly by horseback. Bulls must be 5 point or better and mule deer must be 4 point or better. This ranch has better than 90% success rate in opportunity of 5 point and better elk. Guided mule deer hunts are offered by this Montana outfitter.

These top notch archery elk hunts take place on public lands in the Missouri River Breaks and the Burnt Lodge Wilderness Area near Fort Peck Lake. Hunting can be done from a comfortable travel trailer base camp using 4x4 trucks for transportation, or this outfitter also offers a primitive spike camp in a wilderness area. Pack animals are available to pack out game. Good physical conditioning can enhance your opportunity of success in the spike camp. Private land archery elk hunts are also offered on a limited basis. The terrain is hills and coulees with cedar and pine tree cover, with developed seeps and springs for wallows and water.
