Request to be an Outfitter

Testimonials

Marc,

My clients that went to Alberta for whitetails in November had a great hunt.  The weather did not cooperate, it was too warm and the deer were not moving.  They said the outfitter and his guides worked hard for them.  The meals and lodging were good.  They harvested a 140 class buck and another a little less than that.  They saw two bucks that were taken by locals in the outfitters area.  One scored 210 with 6 1/4" bases and another scored in the 190's.  They felt the area has very high quality deer.  The hunters saw some huge mulie bucks that would have been in the 170-200 class range.  My clients will be rebooking future dates.

Marc,

I returned last week from a two day "cast n blast" in Louisiana.  What a great trip!  My group of four had a truly great time.  We harvested many specklebelly geese and caught some real nice trout and redfish.  The food at the lodge was top notch.  Traditional Cajun dishes.  Fully stocked bar.  These guys want to make an annual trip out of it.  Great place to do a combo fish and hunt!

Marc,

The two clients we sent to our lodge in Illinois are back home and gearing up for their next trip.  They reported the deer were world class and there were plenty of them.  Neither of them brought back deer but it wasn't because of the lack of them.  Each were hunting for a monster buck and let several 8 point bucks walk in their search for the ultimate trophy buck.  The clients were not just impressed with the huge deer on the property but the hospitality as well.  They used words like "feast" to describe the meals and "family" to described the staff.  Each are already preparing for Outdoor Connection to set up their next trip to Illinois.

Our group of six hunters started hunting at OC's pheasant lodge in Kansas at 2 pm on Thursday, November 11th.  By 5 pm we had killed 56 pheasants.  The hunting slowed down the rest of the weekend due to the weather, but the conditions were perfect when we got there and we took advantage of it.

Marc,

I just talked with Ed Kroeger about his hunt in Colorado.  He hunted the same week as Joey Dinaldo (OC agent).  He said they were into elk everyday that he could hunt but they did not get into the legal bulls, saw one that was legal, but the guys the week before shot some real nice elk.  He also got very sick with the flu and could not hunt the last two days.  He had a great time and would go back.  He also said that he saw a number of mule deer bucks that were in the 30" category and that getting one would be almost to easy.  He saw one that was a 5x5 that he knew would have been over 30 and when he first saw it thought it was a bull elk.

Tracey and Marc,

The boys in Florida did it again.  The hunt was incredible.  Everything went off perfectly.  I took 4 people down to Florida for the hog hunt.  We went hunting on Saturday and had 4 hogs by 10:30.  We then went out to another part of the property to kill a nuisance hog that had killed two dogs in the past couple of years.  It was a 450+ pound hog.  This thing was huge.  We were all impressed with the facilities and the guides.  All the hogs we took had 3 inch plus tusks.  The hunt is very, very easy.  This place is a perfect 10!

Marc,

I have just heard from the group of 9 hunters I booked to our lodge in Illinois who were hunting the first week of November, four had killed bucks and all had an opportunity.  Several had also taken some does.  When I asked them about their hunt they said they had never encountered so many bucks.  Deer were running everywhere.  They told me that everything I said about the outfitter was just that and more.  This continues to be a very good place to book.

Gentlemen,

Thought yall might want to see a buck I was fortunate to take last week in Montana.  No, he is not B&C but a mighty good one to me anyway!  The guide and the outfitter estimated he weighed around 300 to 315.  That is, of course, a whole lot more than what I am used to in FL!  I took him with one shot from a .270 at just under 200 yards.  Yes, I know the blood doesn't look good (i.e. politically correct) but, believe it or not, we kept wiping it off repeatedly.  The lung shot just kept it coming and coming I guess.  Happy Hunting!

Marc,

I just had a group of two come back from our outfitter in Gunnison, Colorado for a rifle elk hunt.  They said that there was a total of 6 hunters in camp and all took bull elk by day 4.  My guys shot a 4x3 and 4x4 and saw hundreds of animals.  They loved all three guides and said the hunt was above all of their expectations.  The horses were great, guides were knowledgeable and the country beautiful.  Sounds like a great hunt at a reasonable price...

Lee,

I just want to take the time to let you know once again how enjoyable our hunt was with you.  The success we had on our hunt was outstanding to say the least.  Anytime six out of seven guys can take down quality bulls in less than five days you and the guides have done something right.  Please let Peno, JB, Wilford, CJ, Miguel and especially Bobba know that we really appreciated all of their hard work.  I talked to Jason today and gave him the good news.  He was thrilled that everyone was successful and that we had such a good time.  Finally, thanks for all your help and expertise.  I personally want to thank you for the great conversation and all the laughs.  Everyone laughed a lot which always makes a hunt more enjoyable.

I just got off the phone with Pat Wehrle.  He could not say enough about Matt and his crew at our lodge in Ontario.  The food was better than outstanding, the fishing for walleye and pike was great and one fisherman did catch a good musky while pike fishing.  They got one bear over 7 foot that might make Boone and Crockett and one small bear about 150 pounds.  The weather was the only draw back of the trip, it would pour down rain at times and never quit when this happened the bears quit hitting the baits.  Matt called other outfitters and they were having the same results they were not sure if it was weather or the berry crop just getting ripe or what happened.  I will bet on the weather.  This group is planning on coming back to hunt the same week because they feel confident if not for the weather they would have easily gotten there bears.  They did however say they would be getting up earlier and doing more fishing as it was the best they ever had.  Pat also said he wants to bring about 16 of his Budweiser associates in July for a fishing trip/company meeting.  This is the second group I have sent to Matt and both have given the same consistent reports especially about the personal service and great fishing not to mention the mouth watering meals.

I spoke with my bear hunter that just got back from one of our lodges in Idaho.  Same old story I sure do not get tired of hearing.  Great bear, great guide, personal service everything you want in an outfitter.  Jim Wisniewski's wife also took a nice bear on Saturday.  Jim is to start his deer hunt today.  I am looking forward to my elk hunt later this month with Craig.

Ike,

I just wanted to let you know that my dealings with you all the way to through the trip itself was an excellent experience.  The trip could not have been better.  The fishing was amazing and Mike was great.  He was the perfect personality for the guys I brought (who can get kind of obnoxious).  He was pretty entertaining, and besides that we boated more fish tan anyone around.  It was a great time and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.  Even the weather was perfect.

More than the trip, I'm appreciative of all the work you put into finding me a great trip even though it felt like I was jerking you around.  Especially calling me several times before we left to make sure I had all the information.  I have no reason to book another trip without going through you.

Thanks again, and I look forward to having you book all of my trips in the future.

Howard,

My fishing trip to Alaska was fantastic!  I really enjoyed the "down home" hospitality.  The accommodations were quite comfortable, the food was delicious and the guides were the best I have ever had.  Caught 10 to 12 salmon per hour.  I heartily recommend this adventure to everyone.

Thanks for a memorable experience.

I just spoke with my hunter who went to our outfitter in Idaho.  One hunter had an injury before the trip and was unable to make the hunt.  Craig, the outfitter, told him he could come this fall and take a bear or mule deer, hunters choice.  Craig did not have to do this as my hunter canceled his trip like 4 days before he was due to arrive.

The hunter who made the trip arrived on Friday, killed a nice multi color bear (about 5'7") on Saturday. Craig told him it was a nice bear but felt like Joe could do better if he would pass this one.  My hunter liked the coat and said he was not trophy hunting so he took the bear.  He said Craig tried to get him to stay for the full week and go fishing, horseback riding and sightseeing. Joe left on Monday and came back to work.  He said Craig is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and really likes people and his job.  Joe also stated Craig's wife was great and really makes things tick.   Joe says they really make you feel like family.  He was very happy. It is so nice to have customers say the things Joe said when they get back.  All of this is possible if we keep quality outfits like Craig's.

I talked to my group that hunted at our Texas ranch last weekend. They both got two turkeys. The one that was killed Saturday afternoon strutted across an open field. The field was about a ¼ mile long. Needless to say they had a great time and experience.

I heartily recommend your lodge in South Carolina.  The lodge was clean and comfortable, the owner and his wife very nice and they run a very professional operation.  I got a hog on the last day and the guide and the owner butchered it, boned it out, vacuum packed it, labeled the packages,  froze it over night and put it in my cooler at  5:45 a.m. for my trip back.  All of this you don't have to pay for--I did anyway, as a tip since if I paid a butcher it would have cost me at least $50 for that.  We hunted turkeys all 3 mornings, but I didn't get one.  However, we worked one bird for 2 hours but he just wouldn't come in, but it was great fun anyway.

I don't know how many hogs and deer they have there--I got one, which was the only one I saw, and one of two hunters before me got one on their last night--I was there.  One of them also got a turkey.  I didn't see any deer, which surprised me as I was overlooking a natural funnel.  However, I did see a fair amount of deer tracks in a few locations.

The guides, I was taken out by two different ones, are very good and work hard.  What was also interesting is that they don't make you fit what they want--they fit what you want.  So, if you want to go out at hours they normally wouldn't, they take you.  If you wanted to sleep late, they won't bug you.  They have satellite service, tapes, and books--all of which would be good in bad weather.

Hey everyone!
Jeff Hurd, my client, just brought his 120 lb Mt Lion he harvested last week with our new outfitter in Utah in to my taxidermy studio to get mounted life size of course. Was he ever happy and excited about his hunt! This cat was aged by the Utah Wildlife Dept. and was said to be 12 yrs old. Pictures should be arriving from Jeff Hopkins, the outfitter, according to his phone call to me yesterday to the home office.  This has again proven to be a good outfitter and was according to the hunter (Jeff) everything we had said it to be. Lets book more lion hunts with this outfitter.
